Happy holidays to you all! It’s been a while since I’ve posted but I have an excuse…the same one I had for four years: school:) And now I’m on the winter break, and this is my last one. Then, one more semester and I’m graduating! A break doesn’t actually mean there’s one for me. I’m working full time and also have couple of freelance stuff going AND petsitting my former boss’ dog! Some of you know or remember Noir and he’s pretty easy to take care of. Andrew and I moved to Lana’s place since we can’t have animals in our apartment. It’s for 10 days and we already half-way through. The view from here is even more amazing than from our place. We see the panoramic city and the lake. I’ll take a picture sometime if I don’t get distracted.
Christmas is around the corner and guess what my current boss gave me (as well as 3 other people in my company)? The new, shiny, 8 GB iPhone. That’s right. Didn’t I say before DC was the raddest of them all? Needless to say this thing is awesome. I’ve been sooo distracted playing with it and curious to see what happens when the Developer’s kit rolls out in February (when the new software update is due). I hope to see more improvements very soon like copy/paste and video player that will play Flash-based content. Pretty please?
In other news… We now have our very own Seattle streetcar. So what if it only covers about 10 or 12 blocks?! It’s modern and expensive–it costs $50.5 million according to Department of Transportation. Oh yeah, and it had major glitch: originally they called it “South Lake Union Transit”. Abbreviated it spells out S.L.U.T I must say it matches well with another Seattle’s gem rolled out about a year ago: Metronatural. Don’t ask, it’s too bizarre to discuss. Suddenly aware of the horrible mistake, city renamed the streetcar. It is now called “South Lake Union Streetcar”:) Too late–the T-Shirts are already made and circulating:)

Извиняюсь, что долго не писала сюда. Конец семестра был супер-напряжённый, но теперь я месяц на зимних каникулах. Что значит я работаю на полную ставку, ещё подхалтуриваю на стороне и смотрю за собакой. Моя бывшая начальница укатила с мужем в Коста-Рику на 10 дней и мы с Андрюхой живём у них дома, так как нам не разрешено в нашей квартире держать животных. Конечно вид отсюда открывается потрясающий: панорама города и озера.
Вот, а у нас Рождество не за горами и мой нынешний начальник подарил мне (и ещё трём моим сотрудникам) по крутому мобильному телефону iPhone Для тех кто не знает, это телефон от фирмы Apple с Интернетом, операционной системой, памятью на 8 гигабайт и самая прогрессивная технология в нём это то, что он имеет touch-screen: касаешься пальцами иконок на экране и даже печатаешь, нажимая буквы пальцами безо всяких стилусов итп. Вообщем я в восторге и уже неделю не отрываюсь от своей новой игрушки.
А ещё у нас построили трамвай. Он правда далеко не едет, всего 5 остановок, но всё же это первый шаг в светлое будущее. В 2009 обещают скоростную электричку, так что можно будет в соседние городки заезжать не на машине. Правда стоил трамвайчик аж 50 миллионов долларов. Ну что не сделаешь для светлого будущего?
